NSU Track and Field Ends 2017 Season at National Championship

Comments

BRADENTON, Fla. The 2017 season came to a close for the Nova Southeastern University men's and women's track and field teams at the NCAA Division II National Championship at IMG Academy in Bradenton Fla. In the lone event of the day, senior jumper, Shakira Bartley, put the icing on the cake of a spectacular campaign as the West Palm Beach, Fla. native received an All-American status with a third-place finish in the triple jump with a life-time best, 12.93m. The jump also breaks her institution record as well as her all-time Peach Belt Conference record. "What a way for Shakira to end the season, and her career," said head Coach Bryan Hagopian. "She has dominated in the triple jump all season and I am so proud of her for the way she competed this year. Overall, this season was one of the most successful we have had in this program. I am proud of all the student-athletes who competed this year. This season's success would not have been possible without the rest of my coaching staff as well as the athletic trainers, strength coaches, and academic counselors."
