Cross Country Caps Off 2017 at Regional ChampionshipsPublished by
LAKELAND, Fla. The Nova Southeastern University men's and women's cross country teams ended with a strong finish to the 2017 season at the South Regional Championships at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla. on Saturday morning. Senior, Ian McQuate led the Sharks to a 15th place team finish highlighted with his 19th place All-Region performance in 33:56.03. Scott Greeves and Joel Lacy ended their season with strong performances as well coming in second and third for the Sharks. Greeves closed his first cross country season in the United States just missing All-Region honors finishing 36th in 34:40.46 while Lacy crossed the line in 35:23.17. Freshman, Michelle Bauer capped off a strong rookie season with her sixth top-finish for the Sharks with a time of 24:24.0. Sydney Stoneback set a personal-best in the 6k improving her time by over a 70 seconds, 25:47.16. Victoria Pecci set a lifetime-best in 26:34.65. "Overall, it was an up and down season, Ian ran the race of his career with his first-ever All-Region performance," said head coach, Bryan Hagopian.
