The two-time defending MEAC outdoor track & Field champion Lady Rattlers, used the first day to position themselves for yet another run at the title. The Lady Rattlers led all teams, scoring 30 points on the opening day. With a strong effort from field athletes and the ever-dependable distance runners, the Lady Rattlers made the most of the conditions to lead the pack into the weekend at the Irwin Belk Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.
