The Ave Maria men's and women's cross country teams opened their seasons at the Fire Invitational on Friday evening hosted by Southeastern University. The Lady Gyrenes raced to a third place finish, led by freshman Michaela Elmer. Thomas Mullally led the way for the men's team who finished in sixth place.
