It was a celebration for a long road traveled by the Lady Rattler Track & Field Team. Not since 2000 had the team tasted the MEAC championship. Hired in 2009, Darlene Moore has brought the program that had been depleted back to the championship caliber expected of the team with a long history of champions. With a history of names like Pam Oliver, Mary Jones, Shaunta Pelham-Wilson and Tracey Cofield, FAMU was accustomed to All-Americans and MEAC championships, not the last place position the team found themselves in after Moore's first season. Moore guided her Lady Rattlers to the 2014-15 MEAC Outdoor Championship this weekend in Greensboro, NC, reviving the rich history of FAMU Women's Track.
