The USF track and field, and cross country programs held their annual awards banquet at the Sun Dome after having a very successful 2011-12 season.

Assistant Lissa Olson and recent graduate were a part of a U.S. team that won 31 gold medals at the NACAC U-23 Championships earlier in July.

USF senior David Aristil posted a 50.04 in the 400m hurdles semifinals to finish 10th overall and just miss advancing to the finals.

Aristil finished third in his 400m hurdles heat with a time of 50.53 to automatically qualify for the semifinals at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

The USF senior recorded his third-best throw of the season in the prelims and finished three spots higher than he was seeded entering the meet.

USF's Jared Thomas will be competing in the preliminary round of the discus throw at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Monday afternoon in Eugene, Ore.
